Our Services
Tribotec provides professional PST® surface treatment services for molds, dies, and tooling components exposed to extreme thermal and mechanical loads.
Our services are optimized for high-volume production environments where tool life, reliability, and surface quality are critical.
Extreme Hardness
PST® achieves surface hardness levels of up to HRC 75.
This significantly reduces abrasive wear, erosion and surface damage under extreme operating conditions.
Ti & N Diffusion
Titanium and nitrogen are diffused into the material forming a homogeneous diffusion zone.
This improves wear resistance, thermal stability, and surface durability without affecting the core material.
Deep Diffusion Zone
Unlike conventional coatings, PST® creates a deep diffusion zone up to 125 µm.
This ensures long-lasting performance and eliminates the risk of flaking or delamination.
Low-Temperature Process
Low-temperature process: 450–650 °C
The low-temperature PST® process preserves dimensional stability and core toughness.
It is ideal for precision tooling exposed to high thermal cycling and mechanical loads.
The Tribotec Process
Simple. Fast. Together.
Working with us is as straightforward as the treatment itself. In just a few clear steps, we collaborate closely with you – from analyzing your tools to releasing the treated components – ensuring a smooth process, precise results, and minimal downtime.
STEP 1
Evaluation & Preparation
Each tool is analyzed for material, geometry and application requirements. This ensures the PST® process parameters are precisely tailored for optimal performance and dimensional stability.
STEP 2
Surface Cleaning & Activation
All components are thoroughly cleaned and surface-activated to remove contaminants. This step is essential to enable uniform and effective diffusion during the PST® treatment.
STEP 3
PST® Diffusion Treatment
In a controlled low-temperature process (approx. 450–650°C), titanium and nitrogen diffuse into the tool steel surface. This creates a deep, integrated diffusion zone with high hardness and exceptional resistance to wear, heat and fatigue.
STEP 4
Quality Control & Release
Following each treatment the tools are cleaned and afterwards inspected for surface hardness, diffusion depth and surface integrity. Approved components can be released for immediate production use.
